Presented by the Sechelt Arts Centre and Peace with Humanity in collaboration with Chef Izzeldin Bukhari from the Old City of Jerusalem, A Tapestry of Tastes weaves together flavours from Palestine infused with First Nations elements.

Learn how food, recipes and storytelling combine as a fundamental way of resisting occupation and colonial attempts to erase culture and peoples.  Hear from Palestinian chef Izzeldin Bukhari of Sacred Cuisine, shíshálh master weaver Jessica Silvey and shíshálh elder Robert Joe about how food and the restriction of food have impacted their peoples, and how weaving history, food, and connection to the land creates hope and fosters communal well-being.

This will be Izzeldin's last public event in BC, and in addition to an amazing meal, we will celebrate his time with us and all that he has shared and received.
