A tour of gardens and an old orchard on Hornby, followed by cooking together with Chef Izzeldin and a community meal.
Join us at Saltspring United Church for Sunday worship at 10 am. Izzeldin will share about Sacred Knowledge as part of the service.
Join us for a celebration of Palestinian resistance with chef Izzeldin Bukhari of Sacred Cuisine, visiting from the Old City of Jerusalem. Doors open at 5 with dinner to be served at 6.
Chef Izzeldin will share a multiple course vegetarian/vegan meal of traditional Palestinian foods and delight you with stories about the dishes' ingredients, history and how they reflect Palestinian culture. Hear about Izzeldin's family ties and childhood experiences in Gaza with his grandmother and extended family, and discover how food relates to cultural resistance.

Chef Tamam Zobaidi welcomes celebrated guest chef Izzeldin Bukhari, born and raised in the Old City of Jerusalem, for a very special evening of cooking and storytelling.
Together, they will prepare traditional dishes from Gaza and Jerusalem — recipes rooted in memory, culture, and love.
Two seatings are available; one at 5 pm and the second at 8 pm.

Together with Chef Suzanne Husseini, Chef Izzeldin takes over the kitchen from our friends at Ottawa's own Gongfu Bao for a special, one-night only vegetarian feast. Each course is served with storytelling about the dishes' ingredients, history and how they are part of Palestinian survival and cultural resistance. This is Chef Izzeldin's only stop in Ottawa during his Canadian tour..
